Default Attn Stage II Cobb Pro Tuned users.

Just wondering what people are putting down for power. My friend got tuned with a 2004 WRX Wagon with a catless up-pipe, Borla Hush, and Mad dad V2. Metal downpipe with high flow cat.

He dyno'd 211 WHP.

If you have a similiar setup, please post your WHP because I'm curious about what people are getting. (His number seems lowish to me?)

What type of dyno?

Trust me, it makes all the difference.

Hmm

Doesn't say on the site.

What did he dyno at before the protune?

IMO the main problem with dyno numbers on their own is that they dont tell the whole story, and cannot be compared with other results.

A friend recently had his car pro-tuned and his net power figure went down, but the car is stronger than ever.

Reason being, he has dynoed on 2 dynos, and the results are off by 10-20whp.

Do you have charts you can post?

there could be huge whp difference between two different facilities depending on dyno methods.

Pruven didn't dyno a base run, they immediately upgraded him to v 1.03 when he came in. When they dyno'd it a 1.03 immediately after flashing, it put down more horsepower than after the tune. They said that it was running lean so they had to richen it up. I don't think that there was an adequate baseline run because the car didn't have time to learn since it was just reflashed. I don't have any dyno charts, I'll talk to him and see if he does.

Stupid question and not to thread steal, but what stops a pro-tuned cobb 2 map from being passed around to other cobb stage 2 users? Are there maps out that are less conservative than the cobb's ???

When you say Cobb pro-tuned, I assume you mean the tuning was done by Cobb?

What does a stock wrx or STi pull on that dyno?
What gear was the pull in?
How many lbs of boost was the car tuned for?
What Octane fuel was the car tuned for/with?

Because it could potential be dangerous for the end user. USUALLY the Cobb OTS maps run pretty rich and pretty safe. Take it too a pro-tuner and he can dial it in for you. Throw that map on another WRX with similar mods 3 states away and it could push him over the limit of being safe, maybe a little over, maybe way over.

Its just better for your car to have it protuned with your mods and with your temps and with your altitude etc etc.
