Default Newbie tuning of UTEC with EBCS...

Greetings, all...

I just installed a Perrin EBCS (fast response mode) and I'm working on tuning my UTEC on my '05 TBE STi.

According to the EBCS installation document they say that with the EBCS you can drop the boost map by 30% across the board. The base stg 2 boost map is 375 so I dropped it to 250 and had pretty crummy boost. The last setting I used was 300 and here were my results in 4th...

The TurboXS manual says for Stage 2 I should have the following psi...
4000 - 16.5
5500 - 15.0
6000 - 12.5
7000 - 12.0

Before the EBCS I had the ABC and I had the normal boost peak with the same boost map numbers across the board. Is it normal to have to alter the numbers so much within the map (based on RPM) to hit the target boosts? I can't just increase the numbers all the same since I'm already on target for 6k-7k.

I just want to make sure that I'm not looking at this the wrong way.

Does the injector column also indicate I need bigger injectors?

Also, do most people do their testing in 4th?

Thanks,

Geoff.

There's nothing wrong with having to tweak your map in different places, I had to raise mine at the top end.

All your injector column indicates is that your car is telling your injectors they need to be open for 100% of their duty cycle at that point. Withough a wideband there's no way of knowing if you need larger injectors or not.
