Default Anybody with a STI Genome or Prodrive, willing to meet so I can have a listen?

Like the title says, I am looking to hear this exhaust in person. Im trying to see how loud it is. I am also looking for somebody with the Prodrive exhaust as well. I live in North Van, but am willing to go where ever to hear the exhausts, within reason.

Thanks from Johny

I have a genome, but I don't think it's an accurate reflection of how loud it is since I'm catless. Before I went catless, it was quite a bit quieter.

Will Gethin be there this monday, May 22? I was planing on going to RR next monday, to see how much a set of mudflaps would cost and a new fuel pump. HKSR, how loud was it before compaired to stock?

It was definitely a bit louder... deeper sound as well. It's not really really deep like a NurSpec, hard to explain actually lol. I can meet up with you next week or on the weekend if u want

There was a thread with sound clips from a local STi, try searching around.
And I got this... http://accessory.subaru.co.jp/imprez...ler/index.html
Hope that helps.

I have heard the sound clips before on the net, but its just not the same in person. I am trying to find the quieter exhaust from those two, or the one that sounds better to me. HKSR and Spooled, I can meet any weeknight past 7pm, or any time on Sunday. Gethin, will you be at RR on this coming monday?
Thanks for the relpies, From Johny

Hi Johny,

I have a prodrive 3" roundtip axleback with only a prodrive mid-cat-delete pipe and a mildly tuned prodrive ECU (PPP2). It is mild -- but sounds nice. Both the uppipe/downpipe cats are still in place, so it will give you a good idea of volume levels if you are looking to do just an axleback + reflash.

I am located in the N.Burnaby area, but am usually free-ish after 7pm as well. PM me if you want to meet up to have a listen.

cheers,
-- Dendrobium

Slightly different motor but.........I have had both on my '06 STI (w/cats) within the last 3 weeks. The Prodrive has a deeper rumble and is about 20% louder than stock. Through the rev range is gets progressively louder, never screams, but will get police recognition if they are within a block. Neighbors will not hate you, basically stock with a kick. The Genome...... the sweetest sound for a Subie. Mine is JDM. It doesn't rumble like the Prodrive at idle, it sounds almost stock (loud). As the revs pass 3k, the exhaust wakes up and may be the same audible level as the Prodrive, but its unique sound gets everybodys attention. Again, not louder(maybe quieter) just different. Now, if you want things to remain relatively quiet, stay below 5k rpms.....because over 5k, it changes tone again and just screams. Yup, screams. Opens up and sounds just like people have said before, something like a jet engine on takeoff. Really is fun. But, overall, since I rarely need to spent much time above 5k, if its not summertime and the windows are down.........I might put the Prodrive back on. Maybe 4 months a year. Its rumble can be heard better inside the car when the windows are up and the heater is running. My thoughts before and after....buy both. Maybe there might be some excuse to meet you in Bellingham this weekend.

Thanks for all the imput guys. It sounds like the Genome is the way to go for me, but I will decide after I hear them. Just sent you a pm Dendrobium. I would go to Bellingham, but I dont have my passport back yet.
