I want to buy an aftermarket grill for my 1998 Legacy GT sedan. I have seen many on the web from Japan, but I do not have a source to buy them from. I know that the Syms grill is currently on backorder. I would apreciate any help. Thanks!

another problem is finding one that will fit properly. most of the aftermarket grilles are designed for the japanese market non-lancaster (outback) legacys and won't fit properly without some work. our gt's have an indentation on the top of the bumper that the jdm ones don't.

I am experimenting with one right now. I'll let you know how it works, as soon as I get all this bondo off my finger.

--Silversufer: Yes, that is the Syms grill that I ordered over 2 months ago. They are on back order and I want a grill asap. Yours looks great, especially on your silver GT.
Here are some of the grills I am interested in: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

i have the prova one (4th one down in white) and am still trying to figure out the best way to fill the gap between the new grille and front bumper. looks like a little fibreglass work is going to be needed..

WOW! Does the intercooler on that B4 look purposefull or what!? Why can't I have one?! A B4 that is!
Glenn O Mono-- Not a prude, maybe just a wise**s The point was the beautiful intercooler. Maybe we can debate Legacy detail at another time....Like when we can both be driving one of those beauties!!! ![]() Last edited by nuburu2; 10-12-2001 at 07:48 PM. |

Well I hate to be a prude, but that isn't a B4, it's either a GT-B or an RS. The B4 started with the newer body style.
Now watch....someone is going to correct me on that statement. ![]() |

jdm gt-b is bolt-on for usdm gt and outback. anything jdm non-gtb will fit lower usdm models.
there is a local person with a black 4 door gt that i posted a pic of awhile back with a jdm syms grille. it mounted with no mods. ben ![]() |

I'll be in Fuji soon (next April). Stationed there for a year, maybe I can get parts from there and mail them back? It's only about 50 miles form Tokyo....
