Default P0457 CEL Code Resolved: fuel filter was the culprit

I've had the P0457 (loose gas cap) CEL since I've owned the car. I replaced the fuel filter, and haven't seen the code since. All the lines were tight previously, something internally to the filter must have been wrong but it appeared OK.

Just wanted to share this with you. The much described symptoms of bad gas cap, loose lines at charcoal canister, and loose lines near blue fitting under alternator all checked out OK for me.

Ben

Wish mine was caused by that. I get that cel everytime I take an extended trip on the highway. Everything is tight and in order.

I was afraid my problem was in the fuel tank or something. I was doing the 60K mile maintenance tune up and it cleared my code.

Hopefully this holds true for some of you other people!

I have P0457 CEL pop up last night...

I checked the blue t fitting behind alt. and nothing were loose.
I went under the car to check all connection on the charcoal canister and everything was fine too.
I always turn the gas cap until it click 3 to 4 times...
Walbro pump was replaced about 6 month ago when I upgraded my turbo and no problem

My question is, do I need to check fuel pump? or something else??
02 WRX with 55K miles...

I used my AP to reset the code... hope it is not coming back on...

BTW, the car idels weird (rattles pretty bad) when cold just couple days ago and exhuats was getting louder than before. Is that something to do with this code??
