Does anyone have the H&R spring with KYB Shocks in their WRX Wagon?
I’m looking for a drop but not to extreme. I would like it to be stiffer that the stock. My wife will be driving the car also so I need that secure feeling that the car will not bottom out on a speed bump. I will never take it off road but will in snow. What are you feelings to this set up? How stiff is the ride? Have you bottomed out easily? Is the frame stiff enough for this set up? I will also install sway bars 22 front and 23 rear. Any feed back would be great I was also thinking about Ebach and STI springs. I really don’t want to do coilovers. I’ve had them on my Z3 the Koni set up. Any feed back about a lowered wrx would be a great benefit to me. Thanks Eric

H&Rs are known for drastically lowering the car. KYB AGX struts are stock length replacement struts. A lot of people shy away from AGXs if they are planning to lower the car because they just don't dampen well if you lower the car more than about 1.5".
I had them on my Legacy with a set of Ground Control height adjustable springs. When I tried lower the car about 2" I found that they seemed to loose all capability to properly dampen the ride. I previously had FHI Ver 5 struts and H&R springs on the Legacy. This was a match made in heaven. I don't know if the FHIs will fit the REX though. Brad |
