Default Subaru Drag Team and the shootout Poll

Heres my question and please keep the flaming to a minimum, this is just to get the Subaru communities views on what the mass public feels about this. You can simply vote if you choose to stay out of the debate and stay neutral...

Heres the question.

Since Subaru is so willing to invest large amounts of money into a drag racing program. Do you feel that they should feel obligated to go to the Subaru shootout and represent the brand?

That is all.

Heres details on the shootout...

Default suby drag team

I would think that the Subaru Drag team would want to support the Suby enthusiast that enjoy drag racing. Is that not their "Target Market"?

Ha, if Subaru sponsers drag racing, then they should not try denying 5th gear syncro issues with STi owners! Bu honestly, yes, Subaru should be there to make their support known and to show what, perhaps, a fully prepped car can do.

While subaru may not go after the drag racer, there sure seems to be a great deal of subaru owners drag racing their vehicles. Why wouldn't subaru want to bring their drag car to an evo vs sti day? Its more marketing...heck it beats racing the same 240sx all day long heh.

Plus It would have to run multiple runs, not just one.

But what do I know, all my cars are slow

I personally don't like drag racing at all. To me it wouldn't matter wether they showed or not.

If they really wanted to have a shootout it should be in the dirt, where these 2 cars belong.

Let me take back my first statement. I don't think they should show, and they should stop supporting ESX, drag racing sucks sweaty donkey balls.

Its like the TV commercials where Chevy tries to market the Monte Carlo that Dale Jr. drives by saying the one you can buy is even better than the NASCAR version becuse it has a spare tire included - what ever

Its good that Subaru actually spends $ to market its product unlike Mitsu who is going out of business

I don't see how drag racing can be considered "progress." To me it doesn't get much more real world R&D than rallying. Don't get sand all up in your puss just because I don't like drag racing. And I'd be willing to bet that there aint much more than the chassis shared between the ESX racecar and an STI at your local dealer. If that even, it may be a tube frame. How the hell could anyone call a drag car "well rounded."

In conclusion, you have your opinion, and I have mine. I shared mine because the OP asked for it. So suck a fat one douchebag, and have fun "living your life a quarter mile at a time."

Im not against you D' fresh. Hense I dont build my car with one aspect of motorsports in mind, I prefer it to be capable in any avenue I choose to subject it too.

the point here is, since Subaru does sponsor a team with TONS of money specifically to drag race, then why is it that whats considered one of the biggest grudge matches in japan and the US for this type of car is not important to this racing team?

good publicity, but the wrong crowd.

i personally can't imagine dragging my subie. seems more of a finesse car. to me, it's like seeing a Porsche at the drag strip. great competitor, but seems more fitting for road racing.

Its drag racing dude, the car runs for all of 30 seconds. Please tell me what you can learn about anything from drag racing. Charge cooling? Please, many drag racers dont even run an IC. Cooling? Same thing. Now injection systems and turbos I'll almost give 'ya. Except for the fact that the car runs for all of 30 seconds and is not set up for reliability at all.

If you want to drag race that's fine. You should have bought a different car though.

I don't think Subaru should/would go for this simply because this is not their target audience. Especially with them trying to move more upscale.
