Cool Aftermarket front ends

Does anyone know where one can commandeer any sweet aftermarket front ends for the 97-
Legacy? I had a little accident tonight and I have the option of factory or maybe something really nice. If you have any ideas on sources, please let me know!

That looks an awful-lot like the eiffel/proval body kit for the Legacy. If you are custom fabricating those parts, would you expect them to be much cheaper than the prova parts? (those are way too expensive). If so, I'd be interested.

GTBguy-
I remember you talking about this front end before. What is the time frame on this thing being finalized?

Hrm, I'm interested.

GTB, I wonder if you'd be able to do just the lip so that it could be added to the stock bumper. I'd be more likely to afford/purchase something like that, than a whole new bumper. (0.02$)

Please keep us informed.

ok here goes! I originally helped design this front bumper for Zero Sports of Japan... I used quite a few cues from the R32 Skyline GTR.... However,if all of you noticed, the original design is with a DTM style front lip spoiler. The new one that I'll be getting made in Urethane not Fiberglass,as well all vent/scoops will be functional and not just for show. On the side skirts there will be a duct for cooling the rear brakes.

As for making just a front lip, if you look carefully at the bumper,it's a once piece design... this is the "essence" of the R32 styling cues. The grill, bumper, lip is all one integrated unit... as I said before, everything for this design is functional... and has enough space for those who go w/ a turbo and front mount I/C.

Well, I'm still waiting for a call back from a very reliable and high quality source for doing these in Urethane. If you wanted to do it in Fiberglass I could get them done quite quick, and for a whole kit relatively cheap in comparison to an Eifel/Prova or Zero Sports kit. Since it's Urethane, it will be more costly than fiberglass.

As for production date, it should start very soon, and possibly have some of these being able to ship directly out of Canada hopefully by the end of Febuary. Please note, if you'd like to get this kit (or pieces there of) you'll have to contact Chris @ TRi to order... since he'll be the only place that will carry these.

Question

GTBGUY-
do you think you can make bumpers like the ones on a B4 Blitzen or a Electra 2? I'd be all over that.

Hashiriya - at this point in time, I don't think I'd endevor into making anything for the 2000-up Legacys... I personally have 2 Legacys one '98L and one '99GT. I have yet to design any kits for the 2000-up, but let me talk to Chris, if he's interested in doing so, I'll draw something up... BTW, just to let everyone know, this stuff is just a hobby of mine... I'm not a pro-body shop guy by any means... I just like to design things hmmm maybe I should've taking Automotive Mech. Engineering down @ UCLA or Waterloo?!?! Oh well, I enjoy medicine more!

I would be really interested in someting like a lower lip for the front of my MY '01 Leg. That way for the 4 months of winter snow we get in MN I could remove it and not worry about crashing it on a freak'n snow pile.
Does anybody know
how to paste pics in these windows?

GTB: I don't know if Hashiriya was actually talking about the new Legacy body style. I mean, *I'D* like to see something like that body kit on the orange sedan for my '97 GT.

That Blitzen kit makes the white sedan look like an egg...

Got a timeframe for your kit?

Update - ok, looks like right now we'll be making a whole kit. Including that front bumper in Urethane, functional side skirts, as well as a rear bumper lip to allow for a dual tip muffler to be used. Side skirts and rear bumper lip will be most likely made of fiberglass.

Like a DTM-style tip?

Yeah, when, how much, will Chris at TRi still be carrying them?

OK here's an update for you guys :

Working on finalizing details with the manufacturer for the Urethane front bumper. Sideskirts will be made either of Urethane, Fiberglass or Injection molded plastic (material like the stock Subaru sideskirts), rear lip spoiler will be made of injection molded plastic.

Estimated price will be ~$1200US for the whole kit (ie Front Bumper, Side Skirts and rear bumper skirt) Remember, even all the kits from Japan are only made of Fiberglass, and can easily crack/break. These kits will be made close to if not the same as OEM quality.

We have to talk to the manufacturer to finalize everything to give a date we can start shipping this stuff out. Anyways, the new rear lip spoiler will work with any Dual tip exhaust system (up to 3.5"/tip) so you can have dual DTM, or straight 3" etc...

These kits will work for '95-'99 Subaru Legacys. I'll have to see if the stock rear lip on the GT Sedan is the same as the Wagon, if so, the whole kit will work for both Sedan and Wagons.

Oh yes, forgot to mention, looks like TRi Tuning will be the only place you can get this kit, since it's an exclusive deal.

Question

Ok guys - if this kit goes into production, how many people would want it? If so (we need to raise $ for tooling costs, which is ~ $15000US just for the front bumper) If I could get you the kit for ~ $1100.00US, do you think you guys would be able to pay $600.00US deposit? And the rest on delivery?

Slide - the rear bumper is just a lips spoiler... very similar to stock, but will allow all Legacys to use any type of Dual tip exhaust systems (ie : DTM style, dual 3" tips etc)

As for the bumper... it will look like the Zero Sports bumper, but instead of the DTM style lip on the side, it will be straight (this allows for better airflow).
