Default One gunstar? Against the whole armada? It'll be a slaughter!

Man that movie rocked...got a copy from online just now and I'm watching it in the corner of the screen while working.

Lord Kril: Damage report!
Kodan Officer: Guidance system out. Auxiliary steering out.
Lord Kril: Divert! Divert!
Kodan Officer: She won't answer the helm! We're locked into the moon's gravitational pull. What do we do?
[sound of Lord Kril's eyepiece swinging over left eye]
Lord Kril: We die.

I saw the Last Starfighter at a local drive in with a 19 yr old girl, I was 15 at the time. I lost my virginity to her later that night..... Ah what fond memories!

I picked up the DVD a while ago, it was a fun fun 80s movie, total parody on the space epics, and the whole concept spawned multiple parodies itself.

I remember a part in the movie where Grig and Alex are hiding out from the armada, and Grig has a handheld picture viewing device and shows Alex pics of his family. Back in '84, it was plausible that such a compact device was a sign of superior alien technology. Fast forward about fifteen years and devices are introduced that can do even more. Pretty neat (read: geeky).
