Unhappy Help! CD stuck in old HU

Dum me forgot to take the CD out of the CD player I just removed from my car. I disconnected all of the wire connections. I now have a different HU in my car.
I need to get the CD out of my old HU before I sell it. Does anyone know how to do this. I thought I could just hook up the power and the ground to the battery so that it has power then just hit eject. Would this work?
Thanks

yes, that would work just fine. I've heard you can even use a 9v battery and put the power on the positive side and the ground on the negative and that'll give you enough juice.

Power and ground, and maybe ignition too.

I'll try the 9v idea first. Would I need the ignition attached if was direct to the battery? Thats my second option. Hope it works thanks guys

I had the same thing happen only it was with a tape deck and I only realized it when I put it back in the car to be sold. Hook up the power and ground and you should be able to get it out.

Darn the 9v battery didn't seem to have enough juice to power the HU. It kinda made a clicking sound but not much else. I guess I'll have to use the car battery

Very simple procedure. You need the 12v +, 12v -, and the 12v +memory wires all hooked up. They should be red, black, and yellow. Go to any charged car battery and touch the three wires to it on the proper posts. Most head units automatically reset and spit out any cd when they first get power so it'll only take a second or two. pop your hood and do it...

That's what I meant by ignition, power, and ground.
