Unhappy Tranny temp light after turbo install??

After ASR Stage II turbo install - My buddy replaced my feed/return lines and got my car going, and says that after start-up, the Tranny temp light goes off after a few seconds (like normal) and then after 1/2 way around the block (gentle driving), it comes back on again.. Turn the car off, then on again, same thing. I'll be re-united with my Subie tomorrow lunch-time, any suggestions? I'm going to install my TECII this weekend, will it help? Should I reset the ECU before I put in the TECII??

I need to drive it back up to Nor Cal (500 miles) so I don't want to blow up my car . .

actually, tranny temp???
there isnt even a probe for that!
Is your car an auto?
maybe they have one?

make sure everything is plugged in right (only thing that should have been undone is the 02 wires IIRC, oh and MAF sensor if you have a <=99?)

I've experienced this before when my car was auto. The dealer checked out the code and said it was a vacumm related problem. My car had it's cruise control unit completely taken off, not relocated, taken off. My dealer and I theorized that it was because the cruise control had been taken off and somewhere in the system there was a leak in one of the lines, hence the light.

Mind you, I have a tranny oil cooler, so there will be no way in heck my ATF was overheating.

It's pretty funny...when I boot the car hard, the AT Temp light starts blinking and the CEL comes on...hehe...it's like a light show.

But yea, I'd look into the cruise control theory because a) I'd like to know for sure, b) I don't have my turbo anymore, c) I want the problem figured out for when I eventually turbo my car again.

thanks mate, my cruise control is indeed de-activated, (I unhooked it myself) so that sounds like the problem. I do have a few vacuum leaks that I intend to fix also this weekend.

Once again, thanks for the input

No problem, post it up when you've got it fixed or figured out.
