Post SCC Legacy article

Any of you guys see the Sports Compact Car write up on the Legacy? Its in the new issue with the WRX on the cover.

Its nice to see someone tuning a wagon to be competent on a race track. The car doesn't look bad either. Who needs an Audi anyway...

Why is that - you got some mods that the SPO is missing? Stock automatic legacy's have always struck me as kinda slow.

Biggest problem with the auto tranny is the hole shot - it doesnt exist. If anyone knows how to get a better launch from 0mph on the 4EAT let me know. My friend with a 5spd 2.5RS just simply drops the clutch and makes up for the lack of low end that way.

You can always try power braking.

Mash the brake and the accelerator. Wait a second or two while the engine gets up to speed, and let go with the brake. A torquey 2wd car will light up the tires like this. Probably won't get much wheelspin with a subie though.

Its not going to jump like a 5 speed, but hey - at least its easier for you guys to left foot brake...

Have a Nice Day?

I must have missed that issue. I went to the store and they had a diff. issue. What month issue of SCC was that? If it was the last one, would someone be kind enough to scan those relevent pages of the WRX abd the Wagon please.

Much Appreciated.

Mx5racer - yup... more than a little I'd say I have Cusco F&R + RL bars, STi V5 Struts w/ H&R's + 18mm bar (that's it for suspension so far) Right now the car is in N/A mode, JC SPORTS Torque chip, JC Intake, 2.5" SS JC exhaust, my '99GT wheels w/ 205/50/16 Falken GRB -FK451's, JC Underdrive pulleys, port & polished heads (plus port matching).... I'm sure I'll be able to spank the SPO wagon with that

Yup read the article... definately kudos on the build up of the wagon! But the car definately looks faster than it can go... I'm pretty sure even my '98 Legacy L Sedan(auto) can beat the SPO wagon (my L is set-up for N/A right now)... and I'm definately sure that my GT will leave the SPO wagon in the dust!

Hey, don't be scoffing at us ambitious wagon folks, now. I'll have to pick that 'un up. Thanks for the heads-up.

I don't have the issue date, but it is the newest mag - probably is not on the news stand yet.

The issue has some interesting stuff. Not only a good SPO Legacy GT Wagon ('98?) article and a good article on the new WRX, but a nice little Rally Cross article. It seems that one class had 18 (out of 21 cars) that were all Subaru. The RS's pretty much dominated that one with the top 4 finishes.

That magazine is one of the reasons I bought a Subaru - they have been doing lots of RS features.

GTBGUY - sounds like a sweet ride!
