Default Anyone else find a H6 PCV on their 2005 WRX?

Thats right you heird it, I went to change my PCV on MY05 WRX and what did I find! The PCV that always was for the H6 was on my wrx. Its still in the same spot as the 2004+ wrx or when ever they changed it. On the oposite end of hose on the intake manifold below the throttlebody.

Did SOA change this in 2005?

My cars date of birth is 05/04(may 2004).

Has anyone with a 2005 2.0L wrx changed the pcv?

Did SOA run out of wrx pcvs' the day they were putting my Ej205 together?

Could there be any benefit in using one or the other? The wrx pcv has a larger hole for venting.

Could the smaller hole in the H6 pcv make the engine drop in rpms faster between shifts, because not as much air is being vented back into the intake

I replaced it with the H6 pcv and the car feels smoother at idle and drops rpms faster between shifts.

The car has 50k (DRIVE MUCH?) and the pcv has a bit dirty, not really dirty but im O.C.D. and seem to notice everything and its cheep.

Any input would be great.

Thanks,

The PCV changed designs in 04+ cars. It's the small outlet one, should be silver. It's also placed in a 90 degree elbow right below the passenger side I/C bracket (or right around that area).

Thanks for the reply, i know where the pcv is, i changed it.

When i changed the pcv it was the one for the H6, not the one for the H4.

Its still on the plastic t fitting on the other end of the hose coming the intake manifold. Where the pcv was before.

Then you should know the H6 and H4(04+ models) use the same freaking PCV. That's why you think it's for an H6. The tip on it that the hose clamps on in not wide as it was in 02-03... it's thin.

Now you have me confused... are you saying the valve was in the exact same location as on the 02-03 models, but the valve was an H6 version? That's not possible.

Read this... pay close attention to Peaty's post in the middle of the thread.

Im sure its the same on my 2004 wrx. If you look near the throttle/cruise cable you should see a black T piece thats connect to the block. One part of the T goes into the turbo inlet and the other Side of the T connect the the intake manifold under the throttle body.

Well I'm sure I've been there a couple times but the PCV the import shop sold me appears to be a bit larger at the tube. Any chance you could take a photo?
