Default Car problems? Post ECU logs here

It seems like there isn't a central location on nasioc for posting and getting answers to your logs. Please use this thread to post any logs or questions about logs that you have.

Also, please wrap your log in tags, this will put your log into an easier to read scrollable window in your post.

I'll start...

I'm still trying to figure out how to attach my log to make it look like that. Also, wouldn't it be better just to post your own log on your own topic?

i really think it would be nice to have a central location anyone could come and compare there logs to others logs or asking questions about their logs. no more searching a million different threads.

Car: 2005 STI
Mods: Perrin rotated GT35R kit .82 A/R, PE 850's, Walbro pump, AVC-R, TXS Knocklite, LC-1/XD-1, FMIC, SMC Alky, stock exhaust manifold and a Borla Hush, and probably more that I'm forgetting.

OK here's mine, this is a datalog from a 12.1 @ 117 pass last night at the dragstrip with a 1.71 60-ft. Stock clutch launching off the rev limiter almost all tuned by me with StreetTuner. 50/50 mix of 93 and 112 octane and 24psi. It would have probably be fine with 93, as it had zero knock with 93 at 23psi. I have an SMC alky kit installed but I'm spraying distilled water for now just for added safety against det.

I have had a hell of a time tuning out the rich spot that shows up as the turbo is building boost. My BOV is venting to atmosphere, but it even happens during long pulls where a shift hasn't happened recently. It isn't so obvious in these logs, but at this point I'm pretty sure that my 12V injector latency is off and might be causing the problem, I'm going to work on it this weekend. I sure as hell can't tune it out with the fuel maps.

The car felt really laggy, I've been fighting with my AVC-R for a while now. The dynamic advance values may look low but they're the max values in the maps minus what was pulled due to air inlet temps.

I don't hear of many people self-tuning big turbo setups so I thought it would be fun to post this.

wondering if there is a reason my boost is doing this. from what i see on the graph it is going straight up to ~17psi but then quickly drops back down 1psi and stays steady.

any ideas?

02 wrx, stg2. 4th gear.

well i originally wanted it to be a place ppl could post there logs when they are having troubles since there seems to be many threads with "does my log look ok?" it would be nice to be able to have a place where you go and look and other ppl's logs and see if anyone was having the same problem as you, in turn minimizing redundant posts about the same issue.

i changed the title to something maybe a litte more fitting.

EDIT: cant change title, argh

I had to loosen up my wastegate after going from Stg. 1 to 2. It just went past target once, then dropped and settled at target boost. Maybe you were at the ragged edge and outside conditions put it past the edge. I'd say loosen up the WG by a 180 degree turn.

It's hard to tell without you posting the wgdc. Do that next time.

My guess is simply that your turbo spools much faster than a stock one. The Cobb wgdc map is essentially set too aggressively down low (so it could spool a non-ported one up) and thus will cause you to overshoot it's target.

04 WRX MT
TDC e-tune STG 2 93oct
UP/catless TBE
Target boost: 16.5
3RD Gear pull

Here is my log of a stage 2 e-tune map from TDC tuning. Feels weaker than the Cobb stg 2 HWG map I was on. Doesn't hit boost as fast or hold as long as Cobbs. Also I am not able reach tuners set target boost. The Cobb map actually boosted more then what I reached here. Will see how things go with revisions. What do you guys think?

wow, your spool up time is really really late. You are not even hitting "full" boost until 5k. Something is definitely up with that map or you have a decent boost leak somewhere.

I didn't go WOT until around 3Krpms. Merging onto the interstate. I don't believe I have a boost leak, car spooled quickly with the cobb map I was running just 2 days ago. No wailing banshee noises.

I did another log on the TDC map and it looks almost the same as the one I originally posted.

I've since went back to the Cobb S2 HWG map until I receive a revision from TDC. Logged the Cobb map tonight for comparison.

This seems to work well for me:
TQ = (load * 54) - 1.8
HP = TQ * rpm / 5252
I got this from someone's spreadsheet. I can't remember who's though, but props to whomever.

edit: this is not a great formula to use if you are seeing loads greater than 4
