Question Impreza STi specs??

Can someone give me some info on the Impreza STi? What kind of power does it make? What are the differences between the Sti and the U.S. WRX?

Thanks.

You can check out all the specs on the JDM version at my site. The only difference between the JDM version and the UK version is horsepower and torque. The UK version has 265HP and 253Lb-Ft. Remember, we have more horspower in our WRX than they do, though...

Talking

Went down to my local subaru dealer and was asking about the WRX, getting prices etc, i also asked about the new STi and the dealer told me it would have 280bhp just like the P1 in the showroom and not the 265 that people have said. Also the lower bhp on the wrx i believe is because, as standard, it runs on our lowest octane fuel.

Hmmm just checked your website and followed the link to the uk sti preview and it says 265ps which is less then 265bhp. So i guess the dealer doesn't know what he is talking about.

Default Octane

The differences in horsepower are probably due to meeting different emissions standards and fuel octane.

I believe the highest octane fuel available in Europe is lower than that of Japan. Does anyone know what the recommended octane is for the JDM STi vs. the Euro version? Does anyone know if the Euro STi has a cat before the turbo?

A U.S. spec STi will have to be tuned for 91 octane max, and have a cat before the turbo to meet CARB emissions specs, so it probably won't make as much horsepower as we would like.

I have a copy of EVO which details the UK300 AND the STI. The UK300 is for England and is made by Prodrive where as the STI is Japan based. The UK300 has less HP but better overall ride quality. The P1 is just insane according to the reviewer. Check out EVO August pg 106 for the four Impreza shootout.
