Default Subaru XT Turbo?

Hello folks,

Ok here is a question for you super Sube Tech's out there.

I found a 86 XT Turbo. Will I be able to use this turbo on a 2001 RS. I am in the planing stages of a DIY turbo kit.

Don't panic I have a good grasp on the subject and a very good assistant in the project.

However neither of us are too familiar with this XT car. I can get any parts I need off of it for $100. So let me know what you think.

Thanks folks.

If you have questions, I suggest calling Dale Teague, from Teagues Auto. He's got a wealth of knowledge and plenty of new & used parts. Check in the links section for his web page.

I have an XT turbo on my 1.8. Don't expect a huge burst of power at 5psi since the turbo is a little small for a 2.5, but it spools up around 2k RPM's. Definately worth it for an initial build up. PM me if you want some up and down pipes for it.

Well I'm using the legacy turbo which is a direct bolt on practically. My cousin just got an old XT turbo junker, and it doesn't really look like the turbo would really go right on, a totally different block design it looks like. I only did a quick look at the engine bay though, it smells like burnt oil, so I will try to get over there and take a better look this afternoon and get back to you.
