Default 1.8 to 2.2 engine swap

Just wondering how difficult and what I would need to do to swap a 1.8 for a 2.2 for a '93 Impreza L. Also, how beneficial would it be? If anyone could help me in general finding performance mods for my car to get the thing around 200 HP (that's my goal) that would be helpful.
Thanks!

It should be a direct swap, depending on what transmisssion setup you want to have. I think that the FWD and AWD transmissions should both link up with no problems...Thats what I have been told. I am looking to perform this swap in the future.

Default 1.8 to 2.2 swap

I have done the swap it's not bad but I got carried away and went for the 2.2 turbo and had to change the front crossmember also. The rest is almost bolt in. What I did is use the 1.8 harness from the engine to the ECU the pins on the green or blue ECU plugs will fit into the yellow plugs on the '94 turbo Legacy ECU and all that is needed then is one more small plug and a few additional wires for the knock sensor and turbo control and it works great it started on the first try. Thanks for the wiring info. That is one of the spots that I thought that I might encounter problems.
