Default V6 engine in RS

What is the weight diference between the ej22t and the v6 engine that subaru manufactures? Is there any advantage in the v6 compared to the ej22t?

Subaru doesn't make a V6, they make an H6 (same configuration as used by Porsche in all their current vehicles). The new H6 is only slightly (2"?) longer than the 4 cylinder engines. I don't know the weight difference. The idea of a swap has been tossed around, but I haven't heard of anyone doing it. I guess a turbo on an EJ25 is just too attractive

Also with the H6 you'd have to go with an auto tranny.

The H6 also isn't very preformance oriented. It only has one exhaust port for each head

yeah. I didnt know about the sti H6, but please inform me of all my options. I am going to do a engine swap and i want to know of all my choices. Building on a H6 would be alot better than building on a H4, unless IT only has one exhaust port.

Question I want an explanation...

What makes you think that building the 6 cylinder is "Better" than building on the EJ22T or the EJ25? Have you looked into performance parts for the H6? Where did you find the parts or are not available and probably won't ever be available...

There is no STi H6, either. An STi v6 motor is actually not the one you want as it will be particularly expensive. The EJ22T is quite inexpensive in comparison and will hold a ton of boost. The extra displacement also helps out on the low end power.

EJ22T boosted to hell is a tasty choice.
