Ok guys, here's the skinny on the Calgary Sports Car Clubs first rallycross. It will be held november 17 at the parking lot for race city (same location as the rally school for those of you who attended that) from 9 am to 5 pm. Cost and rules are TBA yet. MARK IT IN YOUR CALENDERS

Just show up on the 17th with a helmet and be ready to go
No special license or anything required, just yourself and your car and your helmet |

Have some info on car classes now too. This is going to be pretty simple. 2wd cars less than 2L displacement, 2wd cars greater than 2L displacement, and any AWD/4WD vehicles. Note, these classes aren't set in stone, they will probably change and be refined along the way.

WHEW, thanx Warren. Keep me informed.
I think i'm going to leave my suspension setup the way it is for winter. I did rally w/ it at teh Rally School in April and it was okay, i might have bottomed out a couple times, but oh well. The muffler is nicely scrapped on the bottom. If i'm not satisfied i can always swap the stockers in....if i'm not too lazy. |

Course is the relatively smooth gravel parking lot of race city. Shouldn't need a skid plate.

I agree with warren that its fairly smooth.
But MAKE SURE YOU GET MUD FLAPS (unless you don't care about your paint of course)... |

HOK, its like most gravel parking lots/alley. Medium sized rock.
If you don't put rear mudflaps on, theres a possibility that it can damage your muffler. This happened to my old muffler. Small dents all over the one side from the tire kicking rocks up. You can go to canadian tire and buy some universal flaps and just stick them on. Doesn't matter if it doesn't look good. Just might want some protection for the one day. Rip them off again at the end of the day. If it snows and leaves a good layer on the ground, well, then I dont think you'll have to worry. I actually hope it snows too. A lot easier on the tire ![]() |
