Thumbs up Ottawa Rally Cross - WOW

I would like to thank Robin and Jens who did a spectacular job of setting up and co-ordinating today's rally-x! It was fantastic!

Pics to follow later this week, and a couple of videos once I figure out how to transpose them...

Again, excellent job fellas! Can't wait 'till the next one.

Kevin

Wow.

This sounds fun. I've just finised organizing a TSD rally, but a rally x would be so much more fun in terms of a driver sense. Wish I could've been there. You guys sure are lucky.

Cool.

Tibor didn't do too bad for a NA 2.5 RS against Mike Moffas Turbo 2.5RS.

Thanks to everyone that was involve in the organisation of that GREAT day.. It was super ..

For the remark on my turbo RS vs a NA RS.. yes, I was quicker at some point.. but.. not as much as should have..
You see, the course was done in 1st gear only by everyone almost.. Try to get a full boost in 1st gear. hehe.. not really easy.. I was too fast to stay in 1st gear.. but the circuit was not enough fast to be in 2nd.. I did not have the choice at couple of place to shift the gear.. but, my RPM was low and my tire too much traction, that the turbo was not able to kick soon enough.. It was taking me time to get the spool out of it. Only in 1 big line that I was able to shift it in 2nd gear..

I dont want to remove anything to anyone.. Just want to say that turbo cars that was there that day was not running at the full potentiel of them.. the WRX was the same thing..
We was not able to get anything (or almost) in 1st gear..

I cant wait to see some picture.. and I hope that someone have a video of that..

The only damage that I have.. A lot of paint scratch on my car from all the rock that I was diging out..

cheers guys, and it was nice to meet u all there..

Congrats to Tibor who did some really nice time with is RS, and I also want to congrats the guy with the VW.. Crazy for a FWD and the condition that was having there..

Unhappy

Unfortunately, no, I didnt get any pics of the headers.

They were installed on Tibor's car, and with the deep grass, plus his little bumper skirty thingy, it was impossible to see them. I did look at then thru his engine bay, and saw a bit of the passenger side header, and they look pretty cool! Nice smooth bends, equal lenght. It looks good and I'll have to agree that they make some serious HP. He has very close times to Mike Moffas Turbo RS! Wast a huge track that demanded a ton of power, but the power was there, and it sounds NICE!

My next purchase..............

Yup, I've got a few battle scars myself. I'm thinking that Subaru should have called it Stone Chip Black instead or Midnight Black! After I spent 2 hours trying to clean my car, I discovered some really beautiful scratches from some rather large rocks that were thown up by my Pirrelli gravel tires. Lots of horsepower + mean tires = less paint!

I've got some pics that I'll be posting tomorrow.

Definately a great event that I'd like to do again. I'm definately going to try to come out on the 27th, but this time, I'm taping up the side of my car somehow and adding some more protection underneath.

Thanks again to Robin, Skip and the boys from Ottawa for organizing this awesome event!

Cya, Rich

Oh, I found this... Some of you may be interested:

www.chipguard.com

I think I may have to make a call. Although, my car may be way to scratched to put this stuff on right now. Hmmm, so I put it on and stop further scratching or do I wait until I have no paint left, repaint the car, then put it on? Decisions, decisions!

Rich
