Default The Designers of Dreamweaver need to be destroyed.

Semabe is not a Web developer. I have as much in common with a web developer as a monkey has with a hairdryer. I am also not a smart man, in the Forest Gump sense.

That being said, I've been forced through a strange unforseen business twist to learn Dreamweaver in a week (while working another full time job, 10 hours a day) and put up a web site. I have more gray hair now. A lot more. And an ulcer.

Web devs, I now have mad respect for you all.

Not if you've never used it before, ever.

And have had approximately 1 week, 2 hrs a day to figure it out. And put together a 10 page site, with streaming video, and heavy graphics.

This thread needs less hating on Macromedia and more hating on whoever orchestrated your unforseen business twist.

I haven't used a web dev program in many years, and still don't whenever I have to create pages (except for small edits because the dev programs have the split screen view code/view page feature).

I build from scratch usually when the need arises. I am not smart.

Everything is VERY big... VERY. Like it was made for people with poor vision.

Otherwise, it looks pretty.

Hahahahh... I used to brag saying notepad, and I almost typed that when I wrote that post. Then I remembered that I always open notepad, but wind up switching to wordpad for obvious reasons (if any of you try coding in notepad nowadays...heheheh)...

Anyhow, the first sticker on my laptop when I got it three years ago was, "PHP." Followed swiftly by a RTFM sticker. :P

Yeah, there's a reason for that. One of my partners likes "Big Visual Impact," despite my best intentions.

You've got basic photochop skills, right? Just right click on the pictures, figure out the filenames and then resize the text by cutting, filling and then pasting.

Has "pretty" ever been a design goal for a site that WASN'T hosted on myspace?

Gee, thanks, mikki.

It was more like, import the designers work into photoshop, rasterize 35 mb images, slice layers, export to html, import to dreamweaver, template and imagemap to various directories, embed links, encode mpeg4 files for the trailer and web episode directory (not up in the version you've seen,) take screen caps and reduce them to clickable icons, create 10 templates, re-export to html, re-map the images to proper folders, and upload to isp.

Pretty is a good goal if you are distributing million dollar films and original series on the internet.
