Cool engine swap 2004 2.5 sohc to 2000 2.5 sohc

Will a 2004 impreza 2.5rs fit into a 2000 legasy outback 2.5 both are sohc automatic also are the transmisions the same . please include wiring and any helpfull info never done a suby swap Thank You in advance for your help. Rick

The engines are the same. There might be a few differences in sensors and emissions control equipment, but if you keep the stuff from your car, and just swap in the long-block, it should be a fairly straight trade.
