Walmart, Costco... any $45 battery works great for me. They're all a significant improvement over stock.

I've been looking into an Opitima battery, but the Optima website does not list a specific application for the WRX. I've heard a "reverse terminal" battery will do the trick. Anyone using one?

I personally will get an Exide prolly this winter to avoid any issues. Basically anything will have more output than stock. |

Interstates are also made by JC, anything in the megatron line while slighly more expensive is a good bet. They are usually around 500-700 CCAs.
If you have an interstate distributor (not dealer) near you, they sometimes have "blems" basically reconditioned new batteries that may have had a crack in the case or something that couldn't be sold as new, for substantially less then retail. |

optima, should be the last battery you ever buy, for the most part. Plus, it doesn't get a ll goopy around the terminals.

Regular Walmart battery works great for me...Consumer Reports actually gave them good ratings and it's dirt cheap (with a 2 year warranty too)...
