Went up to RCM and watched Matt and Mark fit the sequential gearbox that Matt has designed and had built.

This is Matt (aka Old Big Hands ) fitting one of the GKN driveshafts

and here's one of the said driveshafts

Compressor to drive the paddle shift

The transmission tunnel with the carbon fibre cover off, showing part of the sequential gearbox linkage.

What it looks like with the cover on.

One of the lightweight nickel plated front pulleys

Tony (The Wire) who does all Matt's custom wiring.

And finally, here's a pic of Travis for his new fans across the water. I spoke to Travis today and he said "If you come near The Gobstopper - I'll bite your con rod off"

That man clearly has a bigger wang than I. I can't imagine the skills need to actually design your own transmission. I want that car.

Not sure about the clutch but will check on that tomorrow. Will post the full spec when the car is finished, should be in a couple of weeks.

Yeah I'm with azn2nr, Paulie's car is nice and would make a fun DD, but this thing is just... WOW! Plus it started with the clear advantage of being a GC8

Good morning,we will get some more pics up for you today, there are some more surprises for you to see when its finished, having watched the car being built over the last 6 months its always amazes me that Matt keeps coming up with different ways of doing things, and yet everything looks like it is a factory fitment.

You can use the clutch for shifting but you can also shift without the clutch as it has a dog engaged gearbox, the choice is yours.

Well, I'd venture to say that my car is a little more than "just clean", he he he, but I agree 100%, this GC8 is AMAZING!!!

I don't think you can really compare though. One is just a car from a Subaru enthusiast, and the other is a shop-sponsored showcase, built to motorsport competition specs. The fact that someone even brought up my car in the same breath as this GC8 is an honor...

But really, this white GC8 is such a step up from the norm it's not even funny. EASILY MY MOST FAVORITE NON-WRC SUBARU EVER!!!

Oh, did I mention that this GC8 is my MOST FAVORITE SUBARU OF ALL TIME?

I'd give my (you know what) to have a car like that.

Very well done guys. If I'm ever in the UK, you guys would surely get my business (provided I could afford it).

ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!!!

Hi Paulie, thanks for the great comments, I will pass them on to Matt an Olly. Tell me where you have posted pics of your car as I would be really interested to look at it, as I'm sure Matt will.

I'll put together some links to some pics to my car, but really, it doesn't even compare to the White GC8. Seriously. I'm borderline embarassed for you to look at pics of my car and compare them to the GC8.

The GC8 is so much better it's not even funny.
