Default ECU reset with a UTEC?

i installed a new battery yesterday after my original finally died.... almost 5 years to the day after i got it. heres my question... does an ecu reset do anything if you have a dyno tuned map being used?

im asking because after the battery install my car feels slower than it was i havnt done a reset in a loooong time, and i cant ermember if ive ever experienced this.

btw, UTEC, VF-30, TBE, pinks and pump.

thanks,
Bob

You'll have to wait till the stock ecu adjust the fuel trims, this takes about 200 KM of driving.

If you are using open-loop fueling on the UTEC, a reset makes no difference above 25% throttle. The ECU's recalibration has no effect on the UTEC in open loop.

If yours is an older UTEC using closed-loop fueling, then yes, the ECU's learning will affect the UTEC's performance.

Either way, idle and part throttle will perhaps change a little as the ECU learns after reset.
