Dont even bother puting it on the outside if you can help it. I got XM and I installed the antenna on the inside, right up on the passenger side of the dash near the windshield. Used double sided tape to secure it and hid the wire in the cracks of the dash. It looks great, and you can barely notice it.

Like I've said already all you need is the Terk xmicro! No tape needed, no loss of reception like mounting it inside has, and NO scratches! It's really small and cheap. Problem solved. Ditch that 5 year old XM antenna you had on there.

go to home depot and get a small sheet of Permatek. Its this clear stick on stuff, much like Rockblocker. Cut out a small piece, clean the area where you want to put the antenna, and put the Permatek on it. Its like having a clear bra just on the part where the antenna goes. Thats what I do on all my sat installs.. never scratches
