Default will i spool too quickly?

i am installing a deadbolt monster td04 along with a perrin turbo inlet hose and port/polish stock monifold. will the cobb stg 2 base map handle the extra flow safely, or will i have to get a protune or a map from pdxtuning first? also, will the gutted stocker be ok with this setup, or should i try to port match the stocker, or should i sacrifice the money and just buy an aftermarket uppipe as well? thanks,

-jeremy

i'm running the same setup. you'll be fine, but i'd either get a protune or a pdx map soon to really get the most out of your setup.

i agree you should be fine, the new base maps go into open loop fueling pretty fast. like /\ said, in order to get the most out of the mods, DEF get a protune.

Edit: to asnwer the other Q, the stock UP should be fine, port matched would obviously be best for flow

DEFINITELY ~300 quicker spool right when you slap it on. remeber to enlarge the opening of the up pipe as well. havent had a chance to dyno yet but there was a new thread started recently in the proven power bragging thread that has dyno numbers from a ported td04. i think he hit 249whp and his torque curve is straight up.

good to hear; i definitely plan on getting protuned, but i want to get an axleback and a bigger tmic first so i don't have to get tuned twice. another question: should i get bigger injectors (like deatschewerks modded stockers) and a walbro now, or wait until i end up with a bigger turbo? i keep reading that some tuners say that stock injectors are pretty much tapped out with a protune.

You might as well do the bigger injectors and pump now if you can. I'm running a TD04 on my 2.5L swappeed WRX but I have 660cc injectors and a Walbro already in there awaiting my VF39 that's sitting on my floor.
