looking at that I think you do have USDM fronts and JDM rear. look at the pic I posted of the WRX "pink" springs earlier in the thread- regardless of paint- look at the lower coils on the rear springs- they are different than than the jdm ones- yours appear to be identical to the jdm ones
also in my pic there is a fair amount of difference in spring length between front/rear, not so much w/ the pics of your springs you can purchase the USDM WRX springs in pairs- front or rear, if the jdm ones (if that's what they indeed are) don't work out you can just purchase the rears |

im really leaning towards believing my rears are jdm, but if you count (starting from the base of my rear spring) the number of 360 degree turns, mine have 7 (with another 180 of a turn to the end, which isnt pictured very well, the extra 180 that is), where the pics of the rear spring that you and nhluhr posted have 6 360 degree turns (plus about an extra 90 to finish it off). mine are obviously a different product meaning there is a possibility of different spring rates. thats what is currently confusing me.

I was looking at the "dead" coils, the ones I pictured only have 2.5, the jdm ones have 3.5- your right yours appear to be different altogether

the bottom spring coils are often referred to "dead" coils as they are meant to collapse w/ the weight of the vehicle- just pointing out the number of "dead" coils is varying between sets

thanks again! in a few weeks ill be done with this semester and ill have some time to attempt to find the spring rate of these rogue springs. im not much on how to's and pictures and posting in an orderly fashion, but ill share the results either on this thread or a new one in this category if all goes well (assuming i can find someone to let me borrow weights / bags of concrete, etc..)
if anyone finds stumbles over some info on these springs, please share. Thanks! |
