Default +1 for Garage Tuning! Read this if you think you will ever need work done on the suby

I had a few problems recently and had them schedueled to be fixed. I thought I might be able to get the work done cheaper so I read the sticky on where to get your car worked on in oc. I found Garage Tuning and gave Kevin a call, from the start he was so nice and down to earth, and he probably knows everything there is to know about subarus.
Main thing that I needed done was my timing belt and tensioner bearing. He quoted me 150 for labor I thought that was pretty cheap considering that the place that I had lined up gave was giving me a "hookup" price @ 350. I am always on a budget so I went down and met them, they helped me out with other problems and didn't charge me for their knowledge We schedueled the timing belt to be done today. I brought the car in at 1 and Kevin called me at 3 saying its done and I can come pick it up.
They did a great job and it was very very easy and I am looking forward to my next install there.
Thanks for everything to Kevin and all the guys at Garage Tuning in Laguna Hills.

Check them out!

p.s. they do 6 speed swaps!

..."6 speed on its way, shortly after that 2.5 block", dose'nt a STi have those ? Dose'nt the STi have a 2.5 block too ? So basicly after all the work is done you'll be raping yourself?

Well, it is to an extent that I rape sti's. If they have exhaust and a little bit of work then its a pretty close race/I might be on the short end of the stick. I want to be able to keep up with the faster sti crowd.

My mission in life is to make my GD STi kill fully modded GC8

2.8L + Cosworth heads/cams + ball bearing turbo.....

BRING IT

And I have compared details between a GC8 with all STi gears and a GD STi, you guy's point is a stock GC is 400lbs lighter then a stock GD STi, but that is a stock NA GC 2.5RS, after you swap in all the Turbo components, after you swap in the 6MT/R180 diff to handle the power, after adding the big brakes to stop the thing. The weight differences is only like 200 lbs, don't forget, we can lighten our GD also Then you guys (GC) still has a softer chassis. My conclusion is the 2 chassis are very similar when they have comparable hardwares. The GC has a lot less advantages over the GD then most people think. Sure it is easy to make a GC faster then a stock STi, but once the GD STi is modded, they are really similar, is like comparing Civics to Integras......same cars as far as I can tell......

Oh and +1000 for Kevin at GT, he is one of the coolest car guy I know. I will be going to his shop shortly.

You are correct, the GC is/was plagued with bugs (mainly handling and now power) the GD is supposed to be an improved version of it predecessor, it's called and evolution if it wasn't the case, darwin would be jumping out of his grave wondering where the **** did he do wrong...it is fun to see WRX and STi no0bs, looked surprised thinking that their car is bad ass when a car that is 6 years old can hand them their ass on a silver platter and ask for seconds...Ah yes, that's fun!!!!

GC still owns you all though...
