ok im sick of this noise, please somebody help me figure this out.

I have a knocking noise that ive been trying to figure out on my 03WRX for months now. This noise only occures after the car has been warmed up and driven around. This noise comes from some where around the front driver side or front middle. Ive spent many hours trying to track the source of the noise, but its just to hard because you can only hear it when the doors are shut, windows up and radio off, and even then im unsure EXACTLY where the sound comes from. No engine knocking, the exhaust is completely bolted down. All loose articles have been removed from the car. And i still have no success. I am starting to suspect a Transmission mount because when i grabbed the exhaust from underneath the car and shook it back and forth, i noticed the transmission shifting quiet a bit as well ( is this normal? ). Ive brought the car to subaru and all they did was laugh at me and told me my Battery tie down was loose and my spare tire was loose so they thought i was some idiot, they also said there was no engine knocking or any other abnormal noise coming from the engine compartment. Then they charged me $115.00, and the noise is still there.... PLEASE any other opinions or suggestions would be great. Thanks

I assumed all your paid $115.00 was labor charge.... Otherwise, you should get a refund since they didn't exactly fix your problem.
