Default ebay tmic with cobb ap

I was wondering if you could get away with using an ebay intercooler for the vf39 and 18g maps instead of the sti tmic. I would like to get 1 but dont want to have to tune for it right away.

I've heard of people running this but its probably safer to just save the money and time and do it right with the sti tmic.

Yeah I want to do the same thing since the STi IC isn't that great. Ebay TMIC > STi TMIC. I was thinking I'd have to get a PDX or pro tune for that. Anyone tried it???

Seeing as Cobb is so conservative in their tunes, I wouldn't see this being a huge issue at all.

Not an 06, but I ran the OTS vf34 map on MY04 with an ebay TMIC and had zero issues. I imagine the map will be under utilizing the full capacity of the TMIC.

I don't have a 06, so the lack of low end on the 2.0L + increased vf34 turbo lag (3500rpms), wasn't ideal for me. I probably could have pnp'd and wrapped everything the eye could see to get it to spool how I wanted but it wasn't worth it for me. I find the car much more fun to drive around town with the TD04, and easier at autox.

But your car isn't cool anymore with the td04. I still say you should slap on that extra turbo you have, lol.
