Question Tech question: Sniffing for AccessPort

Can Subaru really check if you had AccessPort, even if you revert back to stock? I know Cobb says no, but are there any personal experiences that point to the opposite? Can they do a specific checksum and trace it? Can they do a "life span" check on the EEPROM and tell how many times it has been programmed or how many program iterations it has left?

I had mine in for warranty work and they didn't notice it, although the dealership here doesn't have the smartest tech either.

to my knowledge dealers can see that "something" has happened, but they have no way to know exactly "what" happened (the relfash). That's how i understand it
