I 've got the single tip stromung, but whole muffler is Stainless Steel
Won't find one anywhere else ![]() I'll get a pic of it posted soon -chrisC BTW, the dual tips won't fit the bumpers of 95-99's. Only 2000+ will the dualies fit. ![]() |

Are there any motivational-type gains to be had from the Stromung (as if the rockin' tone wasn't sufficient).

silversurfer, are you running it with an intake? I'm about to pull the trigger on a JC Sports, but I'm worried about the loss of low-end grunt that appears to be a side effect. Or are you stock intake/Stromung exhaust?

Kevin,
I removed the extra sound baffle from the fender. Then i dropped in a K&N Panel filter into the stock airbox. I was worried about blown MAF's so that's what i'm sticking for the moment. Until COBB tuning makes their new intake that's Blown MAF resistant... ![]() One thing that I have noticed as well as my friends, when you do the extra airbox/sound baffle removal, your car WILL have the high pitch whining noise at idle. You won't hear it at throttle, and actually get a nice aggressive rumble when reving high. That's the trade off, some whining noise for more performance/less restriction. -chrisC |

Silversurfer, sounds like your approach might be a better one than an intake. You get to keep the low end, right? Everybody says the low-end grunt goes away with an intake, but given the choice between under 5k grunt and over 5k pull, I'll take the grunt...

Kev-
yeah Our cars are really dogs for the low end....guess it's the ~3100 lbs.... The high end is much more responsive with the K&N panel filter and Exhaust. I'm planning to drop a pulley in and see what it'll do for low end. I've been told it helps only in top end...but I'll see. Once I'm up to speed it's not a big prob to accel. Just the low end is. ![]() I just bought a 4.5" MAF adapter plate and cone filter. I'm gonna try that out and see how that works for low end. I'll also try to figure out how to make a cold air bath for it since it won't be sucking cold air from the fender anymore... ![]() Anyways keep me up to date how your progress is goin' -chrisC |
