Default Wheel Width vs. Tire Size Question

[retardedquestion]

I've always had issues w/tire sizes. I've searched through the FAQ's, to no avail...

I'm trying to find out if there is some typ of chart or formula, to see if certain wheel widths will accomodate certain tire sizes.

For example, will a 225/50R/16 tire fit comfortably on a 16x7 wheel? Should I assume that all tires which bear the "???/??/16" will fit on any wheel that bears a "16x?".

Thanks!

...go to tire rack....pick a tire....ANY tire....open tire main page....select and open 'specs' at the top....see 'rim width range' and 'measured rim width' for tire size desired---NOTE relationships between different tire sizes and rim widths....also read ALL the tire FAQ's on that site for MEGA 411 on all sorts of tire shizzle
