Default WRX AP too STI AP

Ok car wrecked, ****ty, your tellin me. Worst day of my life last night. Anyways. I think i'll be successful on retrieving the accessport off of it and unmarrying it. Now my question is....is it possible to load 04 STI maps onto it and it work properly. I found a badass deal on a local STI here where i live. 4600 miles. Kept in storage and garage. Seen 3 days in the sun. about 25k. If i can get the ap to work on that hellz yes!

No, WRX and STI AccessPorts are not compatible. Your best bet is to sell the WRX AP and buy a STI model.

before you start selling and buying APs... Why not call Cobb and ask if they can help you on it, maybe they can ( for a fee ) take your's in and do something? ...

can't hurt to ask questions. Or try posting the question on their site- http://www.wrxforum.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi

In the past when this has come up, the cost Cobb charges to "trade in" an AccessPort was more or very close to the difference in price between selling an AP and then buying a new one.

Can't hurt to give them a call and ask, though.

Ok to clear up this topic for good, and if anyone ever searches again. I emailed cobb they're response.

There are physical differences in the AccessPORT for the WRX and STi so
reprogramming it would not allow it to work on the STi. You would have
to sell that AccessPORT and get the proper one for the STi.
