Interesting.

He got some of the points wrong, but overall his attitude was pretty good.

The ER27 H6 was the first flat 6 for Subaru, not the EG33... and the brakes are plenty big on the SVX. I think the one he was driving was ragged out and needed some fresh pads and fluid.

And it's 3400lb... not 3600.

Dude... Kazzer is a dick... He needs to stick to music instead of prancing around in one of our Beautiful SVXi spitting out misguided facts.... Seems that all he did was talk to someone about the car for all of 30 minutes before he got on camera. There is SOooooo much more information (and accurate info at that) that he could have said... Plus the "supprised that it doesn't understeer much" comment was interesting... He must have been on Summer tires... My car understeered like a pig when I had the stockers with the allseasons on it... Plus, that one had 300Z wheels on it... And Yes, Porter is Right... The brakes ARE perfectly fine for the car... I know I was always talking about upgrading my brakes and blah blah blaaa.... In truth, I just love the look and feel of really big brakes... The stock SVX brakes will lock all 4 tires (with the ABS pulled)... That makes them totally fine...

I must say though, it is good seeing an SVX on TV for once (that isn't involved in a car chase)... I am gonna start writing Top Gear soon and see if I can get them to do a feature on an SVX sometime I think that would be AWESOME!!

That's the gross weight I believe. On the scales my '94 LSi Touring with the sunroof and all the heavy options (leather, etc) was just a shade over 3400.

With a 5 speed and no sunroof they drop into the low 3300 range.

If you had the LSi then it was alittle closer to 3,600lbs... I have the L AWD and it was right around 3,400lbs... I say "was" because the 5 speed swap took about 100lbs off the front of the car... The weight really is kinda a stupid thing to argue about though... I bet if ya stuck mine on scales we'd see that mine is closer to about 3,600lbs with fuel in it... Those weights that are on the doors don't include fuel, and why would we even care about how much it weighs without fuel and our selves in the car??... Either way, it is a heavy car, there is no getting around that...

Even though it is a fat pig, I still love the car and will defend it until the world ends. It was the first car that I EVER really "drooled" over and wanted. Now that I have one, I am sticking to it like glue ... That is, unless I come into finantial trouble with college, then Porter gets first dibs

My bro's is a 1995 LS.The weight on his car was 3580. But after some mods and just talking out things that he didn't need I think it made be at 3575 or something like that. HE tall a lot of weight out cuz of the 17lB rims and some interior parts.Mods for now are Arospeed's RS-gt Rims hyperblack, tires HTRZ2 from Sumitomo, Brake lines for motorsports warehouse,Brake pads& rotors from Racecomcepts.net More to come I think that is what he said. GreenMarineSVx you might know he on Subaru-svx.net His name is Crazypolo95. Well on his car the back of it just wants to kick out. That might just be the car or something. Beside that you really don't feel anything is the car. It is like a smooth drive till you have to gas it. The car stops better with some upgrade brake. I think the pologreen color or a white looks the best in that car

Dude, I can barely understand you...But I have seen your brother on the SVX network everynow and then. I'm not on there much anymore... Seriously though... Slow down alittle when you type, I had to read back through your post 3 times to figure out what you were trying to say

Oh, I just got finished emailing Top Gear... I asked if they would ever consider doing a 5 minute "revival" of the SVX... Slim chance that I'll actually get an e-mail back, or that they will actually do one... But it was worth a try

I do agree with his final statement, though:

Subrau didn't give the SVX a fair chance.

It'd be awesome if they'd revive the name with an awesome sporty coupe nowadays. Just give the exterior a minor facelift to make it look fresh, re-design the interior and throw in an STI drivetrain (and maybe lighten it a little)

I wouldn't even want the STi drivetrain.... Well.. The only thing I want outta an STi is the 6 speed... That is it... The SVX just doesn't look like a car that should have a 4 cylinder in it... Yes, I know it could be soo much faster with a tuned STi morot in it, but really... Driving an SVX is not about the speed... It is about the noise (in my car's case ) and the feel and the look...

I know, but I'd like to see Subaru do it.

Or maybe a twin turbo EZ30R... But wait, PHATsuby's already doing that.

PHATsuby has already done a turbocharged SVX... He used something like a GT35 or a GT40 turbo... still used the EG33 though... As far as I know no one has bothered to swap another motor into the SVX... I wouldn't mind doing an EZ30, but ONLY if the EG33 heads would bolt up.... The EZ30 has some wierd exhaust manifolds that really kill the sound...

EDIT: I think I may have that screen name mixed up with someone else... Please correct me if this is the case...

keep in mind the SVX hit the market at a bad time. Subaru was nearly going out of business. Read the book "where the suckers moon" for the full story

Has anyone seen

Found at Small Car Performance

The new head lights, corner lights and grill they sell do a lot for the car. I delt with them for my Hall Effect speed sensor I used for my swap and they were great to deal with.

How did Kazzer get this gig?

I just found it interesting that SCR has a "recording artist" reviewing new cars and old. Wouldn't a seasoned racer be more of an appropriate fit.

I don't dislike the guy or anything, just thought it was an interesting move for the show.
