Default How do you download a map from your email?

A friend of mine is going to share his protune map with me. It isn't anything big mainly larger tmic. But anyways he has sent me the attachment in a email. How do I get it on the map page and into the ap. I have saved it in a short cut and on a floppy. When tried to save, the comp asks what to use to open the file. Heck I have no idea. I'm completly lost. Any help would be great.

This is highly ill advised for a multitude of reasons. Cars with the same turboback respond completely different to OTC maps, and those are fairly conservative. A protuned map for one car can react quite poorly on another car with the same exact modifications and unless you data log it heavily you could easily damage your car. Even PDX maps are hit or miss and often require two or so logs to be sent to them in oder to fine tune and get the kinks out of it.

Save the file onto your hard drive. Open up accessecu map manager software. Sync your AP to your computer. Use the software to import the map into the map listing folder then transfer it onto your AP.

you don't want to choose anything to open the file, you will never open the file with your comp. Just save it into a folder you can remember, or to your desktop. do a "save as" from your email. When you sync your ap, hit import map and browse, select the map and load it onto your ap, pretty simple really :O

Aren't Protuned maps AP Serial number specific? Therefore the only Protuned maps you can use are the ones off cobb's site.

You have to enter your AP serial number in the form when you request for a PDX map.

That maybe the case cause I can not download it on to the ap. I can download it onto a floppy or to desktop but will not show up when I try to send it to the ap using the import map thing.

no do not import the map, go to open map folder and find the folder where the file is. This should find it.

pdx said i HAD to have my ap serial number from them to make the map. This makes me believe you can only use it on the ap it was made for.

it would be interesting if this wasnt the case though...
