Default Stock 2004 STi BBS wheel weight

I had a brand new 2004 STi BBS rim in my hands so I decided to weigh it and add a data point to the collection (especially since I saw some wacky claims of 19+ lbs).

Mine came in at 7 kilograms which is 15.43 lbs using a quality bathroom scale. If you add 10 % you get the more commonly touted weight of this rim of 16.5 lbs ( of course that would mean I am heavier than I think I am )

I think the "wacky" claims are probably based on weighing '05 wheels, possibly on less than accurate scales, they're a half inch wider.

Thanks for re-confirming that. I tried once and some people still didn't want to believe.

Kudos for sorting out Mr. Autocross in that thread - he needed it.
