Default Low octane map for regular gas is it possible?

with today's gas prices I would like to make a regular gas map for a long trip on the freeway.

I'm thinking CL boost all 5s WGS 0=off
maybe add a little fuel & for timing pull 3 across the board would more be necessary?

Can it be done safely?

I know with my boost map set to all fives I only hit 6 or 7 PSI

Thanks

-Scott

it can easly be done as long as boost is low and it is fairly rich

anything near stock numbers should be good and you can probably lean out from there to help save a little more money

If I had a map swithch, I'd easily do an 87 octane map just for the hell of it. Beats the crap out of riding around with a laptop 24/7

Build one for ~$4.
All you need is the molex pins, some wire and a SPDT switch. Then you can switch between 2 maps and stock.

It sure is. You just need to find a switch that has the # of positions you want.
Digikey sells the rotary BDC switch for ~$5, basicly the same one that TXS uses.

Plans?
Take a look at the Utec manual. The molex conector pin out has the pins for each map. You just ground the pins that you want to switch maps too.
