Default BE/BH Bilstein/Spring/Tophat Suspension Questions

So there is loads of info on the 4rth gen Bilstein and spring combos/ top hats/ spring perches...for whatever reason Im having quite a bit of trouble finding solid info on the 3rd gen....I put 17" wheels on my 3rd gen and the thing is lifted like 2 inches....ridiculous. I need to get it down to like 1/2 to 3/4" wheel margin (gap between fender and top of tire)

I would like to find springs with lowering height and spring rate info for the Bilsteins, as well as top hat options. After gathering this info i will document here for the community.

Please post your experience or point me to someone who might be able to help!

Part #s for 3rd gen Bilstein B6 HD struts:

Front Left: 35-101680

Front Right: 35-101697

Rears: 24-101707

Tops Hats: ???

Spring perches???

Spring choices???

Also if theres anyone who can shed some light on matching spring rates to Sway bar spring rates without a 10 page equation that would be helpful also. Thanks guys

I do not have the Bistein HDs but I have the factory JDM Bilsteins from a GT-B. It, like most aftermarket springs, have the smaller Impreza top hats. This allows you to use the factory Group N mounts. The stock GT-B springs lowered the rear by 3/4 of an inch but left the front the same height. I purchased a pair of front King springs that brought the front down 1 1/8 of an inch. This gave it a slight front rake. As far as sway bars, I installed a rear Baja turbo bar and an Outback front. This package works pretty well together. I can tell the rear spring rate is a little softer at times though.

Thanks for the input. Ive found used JDM bilsteins for the gen 3 but was weary of their condition soooo im just going to get all new parts. My biggest concern is not slamming the car too much. Cause i dont like the look of the fender dipping below the tire margin. We all know the ghetto look of that from dudes cutting the springs in the early civics lol ....it skeeves me out

I totally understand that concern. I rolled the dice and got lucky. I wanted to keep the height "family friendly". I can still fit two fingers between the fender and tire. It is very similar to the pics of H&R springs. Maybe a touch higher. Honestly, if I had to do it again, I may have used stock replacement upper mounts. The Group Ns are a little harsh at times. My goal is to make the car the way I feel a GT should have been from the factory.

Well turns out that the part #s for the bilsteins I have listed in the OP...only the rears are available the fronts have been discontinued. I did find some fronts (apparently the only new ones left) here and there but they were $400+ each! So I elected to buy a set of used JDM B4 Bilsteins for about 450$ which appear to be in decent condition. I went with STI top mounts and the JDM sti pink lowering springs from Japanparts.com Will post pics down the road after all installed.
