wow why is your EGT so high? if it's 1445 at the uppipe it could be well over 1600 at the manifold.

EGT does look high, but I will withold judegement till he lists mods.

If he is running the stock manifold and EGT in the uppipe, then yeah that is pretty darn high. My first suspect the intake.

If he is running stock manifolds PnP with ceramic coating then that is a different story.

If those temps are with an OEM catted uppipe, then they are fine. Remember, the cat in there is going to generate heat.

Even it it weren't catted, at higher engine speeds, the exhaust gas is moving so quickly, the temperature differential becomes less between the ports and the uppipe.

On my stock 04 wrx, I was seeing EGTs in the 1700 degree range in the uppipe....how's that for scary?

800* C = 1472* F

and what is the parameter for A/F?

A/F = Air Fuel Sensor #1

with the spt intake, i noticed after about a week that i boost MUCH smoother. before the boost gauge would kidna jump and be a tad jittery if i really got on it, now its just smooth sweeps to full boost. and i cant help feel like i hit boost about 300-500 rpms eariler than i did before. I def dont regret this mod at all.

i'd like to see a before and after log. its almost impossible to hit boost that much sooner with just an intake...but even if its just 100 rpms it may be worth it.

That's about right. At 1450 in the UP at the headers it would be about 1600. This is what I have noticed from running both EGT probes.

Default Plots of wrxblubayou's datalogs

Looking at raw numbers never gives me any information...so I hope you don't mind that I took your above posted datalogs and plotted them up. Interesting, though I don't know what it really tells us. How much (if any) of the observed results are really due to the SPT intake, and how much due to variations in ambient conditions, state of ECU learning, fuel quality, time of year, and so on?

I leave it to those with more experience than me to hopefully make some useful observations...

I dont have a ton of experience with these two plots either, but the first thing that is striking is a 200rpm sooner full boost. EGT is also higher sooner, but if boost is being made earlier it makes sense that EGT would increase proportionately. I don't have the skill to extrapolate meaning in terms of how this EGT would reflect A:F since boost has also been altered but it is good that Peak EGT is not elevated more so than it was previously.... now a guru needs to take over....

Actually, if you look carefully, boost hits later after the intake, not before.

Totally -- now that the spreadsheet is all set up, I can just cut/paste new datalogs and the plots will be updated easy! Post new logs in the thread or email to me; I can also email you the spreadsheet if you like...
