Question AMP Mounting Locations?

I wanna install my amps into my Leg. Where have you guys mounted them? And still kept most of the trunk room? Rear of seats?

BTW, how about mounting of subs? Any custom boxes???

TIA,

chrisC

Weelll, I mounted mine on the back of my box for ease of removal when the competition gets rough at autocrosses. I have one 10 in a sealed box. I wish I didn't have it in there at all but I just can't stand the flat sound of a stereo without one. Before that I had it mounted to the 40 (not a '40oz) side of the split seat. This still left the ability to carry skis etc on the 60 side. This only works though for smaller amps of course. I'm not sure this was any help but, there it is!

sounds good! i looked at the rear seat but they are curved. How'd you "compensate"? Longer screws? or made a platform for it? Ideally i'd like a mounting place where I could easily remove the amp in case for need: moving,trips,autox....

I've got a single RF Punch 45 mounted under the driver seat. Multiple amps require a different scenario but you could put one under each seat. It's a great theft prevention method too.

I have my amps mounted under the front two seats. From my batter goes to a power distributor block, then to my two 1 farrad caps, then to my individual amps (1-4 channel, and 1-1 channel for my sub).. I have a Pioneer spare tirewell sub, works pretty good.. but making a custom enclosure with a JL 10w6 to fit inside the spare tire.

I would rather keep my amps in the trunk away from the feet of my passengers, wet umbrella, leaky bottles etc. I'm not worried about running wires to the speakers from the amps. I'll use the existing wiring to "reverse run" it from the trunk. I've also heard that mounting amps on subs aren't the best choice because of vibration....

I've mounted mine under the front passenger seat (the driver seat has loads of electric motors - meaning no room) - I feel the amp is safer there than in the boot (trunk)

It is quite a large amp but far enough forward to prevent it being kicked by feet

I put mine under the passager seat too!!
But one thing to remember, don't use compass on the passager side,it will give you wrong direction, I've try it before and it was scare me and my co-driver during rally race!

Duh, just realised. My main amp is too big to mount under front seats. Unless I ban ppl from sitting in the rear!

guess the "boot" it is...
