Hey,
I have a stock 2002 wagon and am about to install a catless downpipe. I wanted to see who was running cobb stage two with no modifications other than an aftermarket DP. I have searched and found that most seem to think it's ok to do this but I was looking for any other input and wanted to see if anyone else had done this for an extended period. Thanks for your time!

You will like it. I ran stage 2 for a little while with only a shorty DP and had no problems.
I would recommend doing the uppipe at the same time though. No sense in taking the DP off twice. |

I ran it this way a long time ago...the DP makes the biggest difference of all the pieces in the TBE, so it's a nice change and you'll like it. Just realize it's the first step toward mod addiction...you will want more

You really should look at getting that uppipe out though.

Get rid of the uppipe before the stuff in it breaks apart and damages the insides of your turbo.

I am at Stage 2 with just a Helix DP. No problems so far. I am waiting to do the up pipe when I upgrade the turbo hopefully early next year. Gruppe-S has a sweet VF 34 kit with the pinks, and fuel pump for $1299. Oh yes, she will be mine. I just installed the Cusco heat shield last night. It fits great, and looks cool too. Gruppe-S has them on back order. Got mine from JSC Speed.

When that UP cat pukes into your turbo, you're gonna go from "zero problems" to "OMFG, MY TURBO IS DEAD!!!!!!" in about 4 seconds. That's the nature of the problem you've avoided thus far. ![]() |

but dead oem turbo gives you great reason to upgrade to a vf39 off a local sti guy and just run that "vf39" mapping with the accessport.
when oem dead turbo is removed, time for uppipe install too ![]() |
