All-aluminum 4.X-liter Buick V6 with Turbonetics T-80 - fully prepped. That might do eet, and it might fit in a Subie too. Better granny-shift that tranny though...

Leave the baby turbos at home and get the HKS T51 and pray that all the money spent can get your motor to spool it!!

I saw a B16 in a magazine once that made 1016hp at the flywheel with the dyno sheet to back it up. Surely it can be done. I would try to talk him into nitrous though... that would make a world of difference.

My t51r-SPL fell short of 1000.. by about 200... LOL.. even on spray it will still only make in the low 900 range.. Its not that big and what kills it the most is that crappy back housing it comes with.

My suggestion.. 8.0 Viper GTS motor x 2 72+mm turbos ... Pumpgas 1000hp..
Or even 2 76gts.. 1000+hp pumpgas with the boost controller off.

If he has a wagon, there is a way to open up a lot of possibilities:

a one off head machined out of a piece of billet with stright exhaust ports and a custom tube x-member adn headers would be needed.

There's a video of a seriously altered GNX that ripped 1000+ hp on a dyno. I can't recall if it was whp, but that's got to be close, if not dead on.

I still would chose the eg33 shorter stroke than the 2.5, and you can use ej rods and pistons to build it which should cut down on cost. I thought some drag car was using an eg33 putting out 1100 hp or so. It was posted probabley about 1-2 years ago.

It certainly makes you wonder about the shape of the power curve, not to mention lag!
