Default AP Stg2 HWG 04 WRX Datalog. Help please?

Here is a datalog of my 04 wrx.

Mods:
stromung 2.5" turboback (flat plate, high flow dp cat, 3rd cat delete)
gutted stock uppipe
cobb AP Stg2 HWG 93 1.30

I've never been able to hit target boost on stg 1 or stg 2. I've been planning on adjusting the watgate arm, but figured I would post a log to see if there is anything else that could be wrong.

This is a 3rd gear pull on a very humid >90%, 83F day around sea level.

Give your WG arm a few turns then report back. It is extremely easy, easier than loading an ecu map.

ok, ambient temps have risen to 95F. I did 2 full turns and now I'm pretty much within the 15 psi range in gears 2-4. no spiking, no flutter sound, power feels "smoother" and stronger.

now the question is, "do I do one more turn and reflash to the non HWG stg2 or leave it as is?"

why reflash? If anything just do an ECU reset after turning the WG and see where your boost settles.

i dunno, i would prefer to hit taget boost without the extra WG duty cycle since a loose wg was probably the problem to begin with. I'll probably leave it and maybe reset ecu.

oh i missed the part where you said "non" HWG map. tightening the WG and the HWG map act in similar ways, you can use both as long as you're not spiking or overboosting.

Its alot easier to load the Realtime HWG map instead of doing a full reflash. On the 04 we were pretty close to target (15.1 peak), so I loaded the HWG realtime map and was hitting target exactly with no spikes.

But if you can get it to hit target with the regular map and an adjusted wastegate, go ahead and do it. I used the HWG map because it was far easier than removing the intercooler and turbo heatshield to adjust the wastegate. But yours is having an obvious mechanical problem getting to target boost.

^^^No need to remove the intercooleer when adjusting the WG arm. After adjusting the WG arm a few times, it literally only takes me 5 minutes MAX to adjust the arm now (thats including removing and reinstalling the heatshield).
