a vishnu unit?? what??

i had a unichip in my vibe GT for 2 yrs. great unit! it's just plug and play, does not retune the ECM like an AP, but it actually plugs into the ECM. i'll have to dig up some old pics somewhere..

if you want to uninstall a unichip, you simply unplug it from the OEM ECM module. i'll post the pics so you can see what i'm talking about:

For some reason, I thought the unichip predated the TXS UTEC. I thought Vishnu had the XEDE and reflashes. But perhaps Vishnu had it before the XEDE. I think Paul ran something like a unichip, but not definately sure.

What problems are you having with it Jerry? Hook-up with wires or tuning? Vishnu sucks for customer service. I doubt they would have any interest in helping out a unichip user. Maybe smeone that is old school on NASIOC Engine/managements or at WRXhackers mght be able to help.

The unichip was the first commercially available EM before the UTEC. The first generation chips you had to splice in. It was similar to the first generation TXS piggy back chips but without the piggy back pnp.

It doesn't even come close to looking like what AKLGT posted. It was all spliced in.

What's the problem? I installed a few of their systems.

Try doing a search in this forum for some of our previous installs.

Yeah, unichip is SO last year. Vishnu stopped using them, went to ECU reflashes, then moved on to Xede.

ok so its mine now, (thanks tomstudley ) so i have a Pnp harness that says vishnu, and a silver and gold box that says "the PROgram, dastek piggyback computers"

there's even a compuserve email on it lol.

i think i'll seperate it and sell the pnp harness. anyone need one?

as for the dastek if i can find someone that programs them i'll mail it to them to find out if it's any good, toms car ran same with or without.

The dastek portion was the generic EM for a bunch of makes and models. It just so happened that is what Vishnu was using very similar to the TXS version. I'd keep them together just in case someone wants some old school flash.
