Default idle issues and boost issues

So i had my turbo off and was swapping it for an indentical pnp'd td04, but was newer. Put everything back together(turbo, intercooler, etc) and now my car is running like crap. I did the pull the #11 fuse and turned the car over a 6-10 times to get oil through the new turbo.

1st problem- when car is idling, rpms are all over the place. Going up to 1750 and going all the way down to the car dying.

2nd problem- sparactically when i shift the rpms stay up even when i push in the clutch to up/down shift. its if someone is holding the throttle cable or something. It will then fall back down to bouncy idle if i keep the clutch pushed in.

3rd problem - boost. boost comes on alot slower and it will initially jump up to max boost, but then it will instantly drop down to about 1/2 boost and work its way but up to full boost slowly.

4th problem - when holding the car at a steady speed it is really chuggy and jerky, especially at low mph/rpms.

i'm at a loss here. maybe i plug or coil pack is screwed when trying to turn the car over without at the ignition fuse. but would that make the boost all weird. oh, and i am running pdx stg2 emap which was running perfectly fine before this.

It definately sounds like you put things back together wrong, unless there is something wrong with the newer turbo that you got or you inadvertantly messed with another connection. Idle might be a loose/misconnected vacuum line or the idle control valve, which might explain the second problem also. Check the wastegate and hoses, incorrectly installed hoses or misadjusted wastegate arm could cause your third problem. Fourth problem may be related to the first, check you spark plugs and see if there are any signs of a problem there. Did you mess with anything else why the turbo was out? The boost problem makes sense if there was something up with the newer turbo, but the other problems don't seem related to the turbo directly.

ok. so i found a pentip sized hole in the the hose that goes from the restrictor pill to the wastegate...only took about 3 hours to find a tiny hole in all the vacuum hosing under the hood. argh.

so i replaced the hosing with what i think is the same size hosing and get this...in all gears boost stops at around 8psi. Now i'm completely confused. could maybe the hosing be a bit smaller and causing this?

You're missing the restrictor pill in the hoses or you flipped them arround on the turbo.

Here's a pic to help...
