I wanted a wagon when we got the LGT for most of the reasons listed. However, since its the wifey's daily driver she said no. If we had gotten the wagon I could have traded in my truck and had a much lower payment, as it would not be needed anymore. But alas, no luck. Thinking about trading the truck and WRX in on a new wagon, but that would bump me to STU so probably not.

That being said...

You are an absolute idiot for making such a hasty generalization. Not all of us are stuck driving just one car. You give wagon owners a bad name.

I guess i am an idiot then, along with half of the other members on this board.

Having a dog was the main reason. Plus, while i like the camping atmosphere, sleeping in the wagon is much easier. $24k tent FTW!

It's all about preferance and I like the wagon cause its different and a quick fun car. I have learned so much about subarus and turbos after owning a subaru and this website. I have noticed and realized that so many people don't know crap about cars when you talk to them. I don't talk to people like I'm an expert but rather read up and listen to others to learn as much as i can about my car and cars in general. I mean I know people who throw on a loud muffler on a pre run ford ranger and claim they got more power. I keep quiet about my car and just try to learn all I can. It's funny how many people really dont know crap about cars and actually think they do.

First you have to have the pictures hosted somewhere,

Then you click the image button (mountain looking thing) then you enter the address, then click o.k

People who think "wagon's are mommy cars" probably grew up in a Caprice or Mercury Wagon with fake wood siding and room for 20. I grew up with a hatred for wagons, but an appreciation for hatchbacks. This comes from my parents owning a number of 3 and 5 door vehicles (rabbit, fastback, Saab900, Citation X11). While my 9-2X does not carry much more volume than the sedan, the size of what I can fit is much larger.

I get asked "Why the wagon?" a lot. I could respond with a long list of reasons but instead I just reply "Hauls People, Hauls Gear, Hauls Ass!"

Cheaper to insure,
Cheaper to buy
No hassle from the cops,
Utility (Must have for any homeowner)
Can get laid in comfort in the back
Better bass from the subs,
No "Hey look at me" wing
Roof rails for the kayak hauling system that make it easy to remove when I'm not using it (Yakima rules!),
Eligibility to join the "wagon mafia"
Ability to say "You just got beat by a wagon" to poor unsuspecting sedan owners,
Better weight distribution
Rear sprayer for tailgaters
It just plain looks better than the sedan.

Bought mine because I can do this...

(with the trailer loaded - we emptied it before I snapped this pic)

...and still pass the fat SUV's going too slow uphill on the highway.

First car was a '94 Volvo wagon. I've always liked wagons and need the space to haul stuff/go camping/etc. Having a wagon while moving from Boston to California really saved me several huge headaches and every time I hit up Ikea I'm glad I have one. That and the fiancee likes it, but it'll be her car soon as I'm about to start looking for another sports car (STi, Evo, and a few M cars are in the running).

1. Looks I get from people when I open my QTP cut out What the hell is that thing?

2. Room: I snowboard a ton and when I lived up in Mammoth Lakes; I think that if I had a sedan I would not own a subaru anymore.

3. Sleeper: the sad look on the owner's face when they realize that a wagon that costs a third of what they payed for their porshe, bmw, lexus...ect just smoked their you know what

4. Invisible to police

5. They just look bad ass

Just some of the top reasons why I love my wagon. No one has really bothered my about why I got a slow wagon. But the friends that have questioned the wagon's power have the best look on their face after the canyon runs at WOT.

I use my wagon for my surfboards and surf trips to Mexico when you need All Wheel Drive. It just has a lot more room for things.

the extra volume in the cabin also helps quite a bit when your passengers have gas

So's I can haul gear and beer to places like this and enjoy the drive...and have better capability to breathe when your co-driver has swampass. I definitely need a roof box.

^^^^Okay, that takes the cake^^^^^

And I like my wagon because it is a sleeper in Rallycrosses when I beat STI's and Evo's.

(I drive an OBS)
