Default 06 wrx tr stage 2 ap (sti intercooler beneficial with protune?)

I have the chance to snag a sti intercooler for cheap. My question is, if i upgrade to the sti top mount and then get protuned would the intercooler be beneficial.

it won't be a huge difference, maybe 5-10whp would be my guess. I don't like the STi intercooler as an upgrade, you can find used/cheap big TMIC that will get better gains and keep things cooler than that for el cheapo too (ebay, helix, i got an APS big TMIC for like 400 used).

Yeah i was considering one of those as well. Guess my main question is if i am stage 2 and only upgrade the top mount will it be beneficial after a pro tune.

I just put on my newly ordered Ebay TMIC, and it works wonderfully, you dont need to protune for it though, I would wait for a turbo upgrade to protune. I currently have an Apexi AVC-R, Blitz SUS Intake, Blitz 3'' TBE, HKS BOV, Cobb AP, and the Ebay TMIC and I am still running a Stage 2 map. I got my 20G today and hopefully injectors in the near future, and I plan having it installed and protuned all at once, with my goal being 400whp. Good luck with your AP

if you can get it cheap buy it but Ive got the same setup of course Im running a stock catback and I just flashed my car today and IM only seing 14.3 max boost psi. Idk if this is do to runing stock catback or the learning curve but I dont think youde gain any HP in all honesty youde probably break even or loose some throttle response.
