yep it's an EJ20 first gen of first gen.
I took a couple pics of the oil squirters that shoot oil under the piston for additional lubricating. But they didn't come out good at all. I'm wondering if I can bore and stroke it out to 2.3L |

I think you would need to plumb the oil squirters right through the block, which is actually pretty hard. So I guess it would be no.
Hehe, one of the reasons I got the engine. closed deck and those snazy oil squirters. |

The answer is yes. The required oil channels are in fact in the same place in the EJ25 as the EJ20, requiring only drilling/tapping to install them. I know Cobb has done this on EJ25 blocks.

I don't think the oil squirters are for additional lubrication, they are primarily to keep the pistons cooler, which can reduce detonation...

The 2.0 blocks can be boared out safely to 2.4L. I talked to Tony Rigoli a while back and that what he has. He has a custom forged crank, rods and cosworth Pistons...Gerry

My 2.5 cents worth. The Just as mighty 2.5L block with closed deck.
